Currency Support for Intergiro Cards
Intergiro cards are currently linked to your euro wallet, and all transactions are settled in Euros. This setup is designed to streamline transactions within the Eurozone.
Handling Currency Conversions
Automatic Conversions: When you make a purchase in a currency apart from Euro, an automatic currency conversion occurs.
Conversion Entities: These conversions are carried out by Mastercard or other third-party services, which means that the exchange rate is determined by them, not Intergiro.
Liability: Due to the variability of exchange rates, Intergiro cannot be held liable for losses that may occur due to currency conversion. The rate applied is typically competitive, but it can fluctuate based on market conditions.
Important Considerations
Fixed Amount Transactions: We advise caution with transactions where the amount is not fixed or known in advance (e.g., hotel deposits), as these can lead to discrepancies in the amount eventually charged due to currency fluctuations. Intergiro does not refund transactions where the final amount was not specified at the time of authorization.
Future Enhancements: Multi-Currency Cards
Upcoming Features: Intergiro is planning to introduce multi-currency cards that will allow you to hold and spend multiple currencies directly from your card, eliminating the need for conversions for currencies you already hold.
Notification: We will inform all customers as soon as this feature becomes available, enhancing your ability to manage global transactions more efficiently.
Currently, your Intergiro card supports transactions in Euro with automatic conversions for other currencies. The future introduction of multi-currency cards will provide greater flexibility and efficiency in managing international expenses.
