Why does Intergiro log me out after 5 minutes?
Intergiro uses strong customer authentication (SCA) methods including a combination of password, SMS OTP, and, in the mobile app, biometric authentication where available.
To protect your sensitive information, Intergiro automatically logs you out of the Customer Portal and mobile app after 5 minutes of inactivity. This measure covers more aspects:
Security: This automatic logout helps prevent unauthorized access to your account if you leave your device unattended.
Regulatory compliance: European regulations require payment service providers to apply strong customer authentication (SCA) and limit the maximum period of inactivity to 5 minutes.
Applicable platforms: The 5-minute timeout applies to fully onboarded users on the Customer Portal and mobile app.
Legal and regulatory background:
Regulatory Basis: In line with Article 4(3)(d) of the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/389, supplementing Directive (EU) 2015/2366 (PSD2), payment service providers must ensure that the session is automatically terminated if no activity occurs for 5 minutes after authentication.
What this means: If you do not interact with the portal or app for 5 minutes, you will be required to log in again and complete SCA.
